Odogwu Bet on iOS — four names, one app

Four names for one product

One product here carries four names, and no two of them match. The store calls the app Odogwu Bet. The seller of record is Ehrrand Tech Solutions Limited. The bundle identifier — the string a developer picks at first submission and rarely changes — is com.9jaspin.app. Lagos State’s regulator, below, knows the company as Ehrrand Tech.

None of that is automatically sinister — products get renamed and bundle identifiers survive the rename. What it does mean is practical: you cannot verify this app by searching its brand. We searched the Lagos register for “Odogwu” and it returns nothing; the seller name returns a row. Any write-up quoting only one of the four names has not checked.

What the Lagos register actually says

We read the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority’s published list of licensed operators on 8 August 2026. One row is relevant, and it is worth quoting rather than paraphrasing:

Three things follow, in order of how easily they are overstated.

The company match is close but not exact. The register writes “Solution Ltd” where Apple writes “SOLUTIONS LIMITED”. We treat it as the same company — the rest of the name is distinctive — but we flag it rather than smooth it over.

The category is not betting. This register separates its categories, and it is not short of betting entries: of its 173 operator rows, 61 sit under the Authority’s own “Online Sports Betting/Online Casino” heading and 106 under a sports- or casino-related category of some kind. Ehrrand Tech is in none of them. It is one of eighteen rows filed under “Other Games”, a category whose other occupants include Give Raffle, Lotto Now Now and Drawmax. So nothing on Lagos State’s list authorises this brand for sports betting or casino play — and Lagos is one state register among several in Nigeria. We did not check the others. Read this as a gap in what Lagos publishes, not as a national finding.

The licence period printed on the row has ended. It runs to 5 June 2024, more than two years before our check. State that as a register fact and nothing more, because the base rate matters here: of the same 173 operator rows, 115 carry an end date already in the past. Two-thirds of the Authority’s own list of licensed operators looks expired on its face. The page does not record renewals, so an ended period on this register is a gap in what is published, not evidence of what happened. A renewal may exist; we cannot see it, and neither can you.

We also checked the Authority’s list of unlicensed operators — a press release naming 37 companies. Neither Odogwu Bet nor Ehrrand is on it, and that absence is worth less than it looks. Six of the 37 — Betwinner, Msport, Melbet, Bangbet, Paripesa and 22bet — also sit on the licensed list. For four of those the licensed period had already ended before we checked (Betwinner 6 April 2025, Bangbet 4 August 2025, Melbet 2 December 2025, Msport 17 December 2025), which reconciles the two lists rather than pitting them against each other — the same reading we just applied to Ehrrand, and we are not going to apply it only when it flatters the subject. Two names do contradict: Paripesa is licensed to 8 April 2027 and 22bet to 22 May 2027, and both are on the unlicensed notice anyway. Two live contradictions on a 37-name list are enough that absence from it clears nobody.

One rating is not a rating

Do the arithmetic before reading anything into the score above. The average rests on exactly one vote, so a second rating at one star would take it from 5.0 to 3.0. A number that moves that far on one input is not a measurement of anything. The listing has been up since October 2024 and has collected that single rating in the time since — which tells you nothing reliable about installs, but does mean there is no user feedback here to read.

What the listing does not settle

The iPad support is declared, not shown. The listing claims universal device support, but the four images filed as iPad screenshots are named Simulator_Screenshot_-_iPhone_15, captured in August 2024. That does not prove the iPad build is broken. It means nobody has shown you the iPad layout, on a listing that promises one.

The categorisation hides nothing, and still puts the app in an odd aisle. Casino is one of the three genres Apple records here, so the casino side is not tucked behind a sports-only label — the shape we have had to flag elsewhere on this site. Trivia is another, which puts a real-money gambling listing in front of people browsing trivia games. Real-money is the right term: the publisher declared Apple’s “Gambling” descriptor, which Apple defines as betting or wagering with real money as against simulated play. It declared a simulated-gambling descriptor alongside it, but so did nine of the eleven brands in our snapshot, so that pairing distinguishes nothing here.

The release notes are marketing, and we cannot check any of it. They advertise a bonus “Up To N1Million” and winnings “Up To N50 Million (Formerly N10 Million)”. We quote them because they are part of the record, not because we can verify a single figure in them.

Who this is for

If this app appears in your App Store, before depositing compare the entity named in the operator’s own terms against the seller on the listing. If the terms name a fifth company, that is worth an explanation first.

The 17+ label above is a content rating, computed from the publisher’s own answers to Apple’s questionnaire. It is not a minimum age to bet — that is set by law and by the operator’s terms, not by the App Store. And if the figures in those release notes are your reason for installing, that is the wrong reason.
